Got car a few weeks back, had a new head gasket, timing belt, and thermostat fitted before I bought it, but it has a few problems which are:-

* Rough Idle - cleaned o2 sensor in exhuast/ then replaced it . . . not a great help tho

* engine now self rev's - I have cleaned the throttle body etc.. but still doing the same thing but not all the time

Any ideas??:idea:

Is the ECU light coming on?

I'd check the timing, just in case its a tooth or two out.

no engine light isnt on. Will checking timing this afternoon, as who ever did the timing belt didnt put in a new water pump and its now pissing out why do people not replace the water pump with the timing belt when they are down that far i will never no

Lack of water is going to upset the management system.
