Hi all,

Firstly forgive me if this topic has been covered :D

We've just returned from holiday and our Mk2 W reg Sporting had a flat battery so while trying to start all the lights on the dash died and the clock re-set. I got some JumpLeads and the car started first time. The problem we have now is the remote locking won't work. I replaced the battery just in case but still no joy. Is there something I need to re-set ? Any help appreciated.

Many thanks

Many thanks for that Joe but I looked at the manual last night and it doesn't give any instructions for key programming apart from take to dealer to re-program the imob chip to ECU which still works ok as the engine starts and runs ok.

First get the remote checked for a output signal, all garages should have a remote tester which takes 3 seconds to test. This will eliminate the fob being at fault.Next check the remote fuse,if thats ok disconnect battery for 10minutes incase of body computer software 'glitch' ;)
Let us know how you get on.
