Technical Vacuum Hose

Does anyone know where the vacuum hose is located on a MK2b 1.2 8v engine?

It goes between the inlet manifold and the brake servo. Its just a short hose so it might look like something else. The hose will have about a 6mm OD.

Other vacuum hoses are also fitted.

OK, you don't want to be tapping into the servo hose then.

Why do you want a vacuum gauge?

Suppose you could get the inlet manifold pressure, just tap into the map sensor somehow.

on the inlet manifold, not that hard to miss i dont think, jsut look for something with 2 r 3 wires coming out of it on the manifold.

The induction system has many vacuum hoses. Look for the small ones going into the inlet manifold.

i wouldn't mind getting a vacuum gauge not for looks as much but more so i can help my fuel economy lol

dunno if im confident enough to do it though

Explain how a vacuum gauge is going to help your fuel economy? The fual rail is contantly pressurised at the correct ratio to what the inlet manifold pressure is. Fuel economy is based on your driving style and the engine, suspension system, drive train condition, and tyres along with alot of other things.

Confidence isn't the problem, The problem is knowing which Vacuum hoses i can tap into and where it is located.

The gauge displays intake vacuum, which is an indication of how much load is on the engine. The lower the vacuum reading, the higher the load on the engine and the more fuel it burns.
The gauge saves gas by helping the driver see the effect his right foot has on fuel consumption. Tromp down on the gas pedal and intake vacuum drops and fuel consumption goes up. Take it easy on the gas pedal and accelerate slowly causes less of a drop in intake vacuum and less fuel usage.
