Hi, i have a fiat punto 2000 1.2 16v and its not turning over at times, if it starts on the battery and i turn it off after a drive it would be flat, but i check the battery with a voltage gauge and its still 13.5v and when i start the car up its 14v

13.5v off and 14v on is a good reading, so its not battery flat and it isn't alternator Not charging

Does the Starter Motor Sound Like its Struggling at any point?

yeah at times it turns over and it starts up. but also after i drive it and turn it off it wont start even though the battery is reading 13.5v so ill have to use a power pack to start it up, i thought 13.5v should be enough? but still acts like the battery flat when its not.

With the engine turned off, turn on every light, blower, ICE, wipers etc.., and then check the reading. If it is significantly lower than 13.5v, then your battery has developed a bad cell, leading to large internal resistance. The fact that it starts with a power pack suggests that the problem must lie in your battery or its connections; alternator and starter motor should be just fine.

just cos it's got high voltage don't mean it can hold the amps to turn over the engine

Maybe you should try cleaning the battery terminals with a wirebrush as there might be a bad connection.

Today i went to college in it, it started up fine and i drove it to college, later on my mates wanted to see my punto i said yea sure, then i turned it over the key to a tart position and it turned over asif the battery was dead, i kept the key in the start position for an extra 5 seconds, it turned over and started up!! done it twice today. Any ideas why this?

Dont have to change the battery clean the connector loops

yeah fair enough, they are kinda covered in grease which halfords did....... ill give it a clean.
