What sort of quote should i be getting from a garage to replace a Head gasket on a R Reg Fiat Punto SX TD 1997?

Not sure it is the head gasket, but just want a ball park figure in case.

can be anything around the £300 mark - £450

Make sure its done properly.. like if the deal seems to good to be true it probably is..
Your looking around id say £300-£500
But make sure they skim the head etc and you might wana get the water pump done as its virtually labour free while doing the HG.. and this might have been the issue that caused the HG to go

Mine went on my car last year(mine was a mk2), and i was quoted £400 to get it mended.

At this point i went onto ebay and managed to source an engine with 30k miles on it for £200, and got it fitted for £250. So if your car's done a lot of miles it might be considering my route.
