hey guys i was wondering and im being serious how difficult it would be to put throttle bodies onto my mk2 sporting. now its an 02 plate and its fly by wire and if im right in thinking you must have a throttle cable to be able to have throttle bodies?
if so then i dont think ill be doing it, but i was wondering i it is possible to do it with a fly by wire if so then can anybody help me on how i would go about it and what i would need
thanks alot
adam

is it possible to fit throttle bodies the trumpet kind that replaces the intake manifold to my mk2 sporting. but the fact is my sporting is a fly by wire throttle not a cable so can i do this without changing my car to cable throttle?
cheers
adam

You would need four drive by wire throttle bodies. But its doubtful you will get a better drive. The inlet plenum does a lot to make the engine smooth and usable on the road.

The top end *should* be better but you will have horrendous intake noise and the midrange fuelling will be all over the place.

No worries.Come to think of it the std intake manifold will be tuned to suit the engine. Even top end sports bikes that make 120bhp+ from 600cc still have an intake box. They also have huge throttle bodies and all sorts of performance stuff.

Cars with that sort of power technology usually have a prancing horse on the back.
