My Sisters Punto has got me beat at present... I just don't know where to start. The window wipers are intermittent when it comes to them starting up, i.e... They always work, but they look like they switch on and off repeatedly for a few seconds before working properly, everytime. The front left headlight doesn't seem to want to work anymore (changed the bulb and checked the copper connector). And now this! All that i can see happening, is the alternator moving VERY slightly when the key is turned, and the click noise is heard. Is this some sort of safety cut-out i'm hearing?

I've had the battery connected upto a deisel 2.0 vectra, to see if it was that, but didn't change a thing, only thing i can think of is the battery is completely dead...

Even though no one replied...

It ended up being the solenoid... It was a bit of a bum to get at, but was easy to change

Just posting this up to give a heads up to anyone who might encounter the same problem.
