i recently had to change my gearbox and then one i brought was not exactly the same as the old one it is a punto gearbox but the driveshaft oil seal is 2mm bigger than gearbox the previously used to be on it and idea wat year this box might hav been off as cant get my car back till i have found this seal.

Punto should be a 'dry' box. Did you take the cups out of the box?

affraid i dont know what you mean by a dry box or the cups. all i know is tht the oil seal i brought for the drive shaft isnt the right size its too small by 2mm i order the seal from the dealer and now dont no how to find the part number for this seal.

Have you taken the driveshaft mounting cups out of the box?
