Not sure if I've got a problem with this or not. Being a 55S with high temp warning only, I'm a bit concernened about the lack of fan running, particularly having just done the head gasket.

First I proved the fan works by putting a jumper lead across the switch plug terminals.

Now I've had the switch out and it looks to be operating OK. Don't have a thermometer to hand, but the switch closed well before the water was boiling.

Looking at the wiring diagram there's nothing else to go wrong....

Maybe I'm just getting paranoid.

how long have you had the engine running to test the fan?

remember its going to take longer for the engine to heat up with the current weather conditions

Tried running it standing for ten minutes, nothing.

Bit later drove about 9 - 10 miles, then stood on drive for a couple of minutes.

Then lost bottle and tested fan!

i don't think you have to worry about it yet as you haven't run the engine for that long and the weather is still really cold
