Hi has anyone got the solution
of stopping my lh headlamp bulb from blowing, put the third one in,and thats blown.Help!

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

You need to get the alternator tested.

Dave.

I have same problem since i bought the car last JUNE i have put in 12 headluight bulbs they just keep blowing!!

Iv check alternator and it is fine producing the right voltage is there anything else that is causing it just today another bulbs has blow my main beam drivers side???

Im not using cheap bulbs either i keep buying expensiver bulbs each time but no luck

you are making sure not to touch the glass on the bulb?

I aint touching the glass mate but i have got a lot of condensation in the headlights:eek:

Maybe water getting to them lol but would it blow evry bulb in the headlight because some are behind covers and glass lamp thingg like your dipped one

Does the circuit have a resistor at all? If that has gone it will be getting more power to it and blowing. I don't know electrical circuits though

No, the only time resistors were incorporated into the circuit was for Dim-Dip headlamp that were a legal requirement in the UK in the mid 1980s.

A relay and a resistor would supply the headlamp bulbs at 6v whenever the sidelamps were switched on. Even with Dim-Dip, if the resistor went open circuit there would be no power to the bulb and if it shorted, the bulb would revert to normal 12v supply.

Dave.
