Technical Fog light bulb replacing headlamp bulb??.

Hi all.

I recently bought a 5dr 2001 Punto MK2 which i really like but i came across a problem and i am hoping that ye can help me out.

I noticed that the front passenger headlamp was blown so i tried replacing the bulb (with help from this site - no scratched knuckles) and noticed that there is a fog light bulb (single spade) wired in
stead of the regular 2 spade Osram bulb which is on the drivers side. I suspect that the car was damaged previously and this was the fix.

Is it ok to leave it this way or is there a way i can check to see if the orginal wiring is still there (can it be replaced).

the mk2 came with different headlight units one using h7 bulbs the other uses h1 bulbs,
you have one of each and your probably right in thinking its been damaged and had a new light unit fitted
