Hi all,

I've got my newly purchased hawk central locking upgrade kit in front of me. I've been reading the guide in the punto section but can't work it out!?

I've attached a pic of the control box? and the bundle of wires that came with it. From the guide i thought there was only going to be 5/6 wires but this thing has millions?!

Does anyone have any ideas where they all go?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Instructions :/

Wiring diagram with just to the right of the book the actual wires plugged into the black box.

my fuse box :D What goes where?!

First of all I reckon you already own a central locking punto, otherwise you would need the motors etc as well. That said, you basicly have all the info you need in the instructions. You just need to check the manual to see which wires from the central locking module go where in a bit more detail, some are obvious from the image but some arent. For instance the black ground wire is easy, the power wire (red on alarm) goes to the red wire in the ignition switch connector, located under your steering wheel. The indicator wire (brown) need to be spliced to the pink wire thats on the grey connector in the face of the fusebox as described. The manual explains it all really.

Then youre only left with the central locking wires, you need to read the central locking manual which ones you need to splice to the wires described in the punto 1999 page. Youll need to splice 2 of the 6 central locking wires from the central locking module to the wires described and 2 of the wires should be connected to a groundpoint, the other 2 you can pull out of the loom.

Then set the jumper to electric central locking, pneumatic locking is a system that uses air to lock the doors and the only difference really is that the central locking module triggering pulse will have a longer duration because the pneumatic module needs some time to built up enough pressure to lock the doors.

Yup! My punto already has central locking but it just needs the remote bit adding to it hehe.

Okay cool got that one clear in my mind :).

I've attached a pic circling what i believe to be the grey connector? If you could help me confirm that i've circled the correct one that'd be good cos i'm not overly sure lol.

I'm a bit lost with this bit but i wont worry about it too much for now because i need to study the wiring diagrams and stuff more first.

I fully understand this bit though!!! :D

I gotta say thanks so much for taking the time to reply with such an informative answer!

On the a4 sheet it says for the central locking wires to attach to a wire that goes to a black connector instead of a grey one :/. Does anyone know if all the wires I need to splice are all in the same loom I circled in my earlier post?

L2WIS..i have one of these hawk alarms and thay are very good if you ask me cause thay come with remote starts witch is good as well. i have had meny of them fitted to my cars and motor bike be for as the guy who sell them i no him well. also depending on were you live ther is a guy who has always fitted them for me for £60 and he comes out to you witch is even better and takes him about 45mins to fit it and that with remote starts.:D
here he number ..07860435670..give him a ring worth a try.....saves you blowing you wireing and stuff and costing more money..........................

Humm i'm not giving up but thanks for the recommend all the same! U never know it still might come to that!

I've been in my fusebox for a bit this afternoon unravveling the loom on the grey connector. However now i'm even more confused as there are multiple of the same colour wire?! I think there is about 5 pink wires, some pink with white and some just pink... I've attached a pic...

Can anyone help?

p.s. how bloody horrible is that black glue crap!!

Im not a 100% sure but there should be 4 pink and 2 pink/white wires in the plug. Doesnt really matter anyways just take the plug out and check whether there is a pink wire on pin location 3 or pink/white at 12 and splice your wire into it. Every pink and pink/white wire should lead to seperate indicator light front and back as well as the side repeater, so there should be 6 wires all together.

Ah ha nice one, it says the pin nimbers in my instructions and I didn't think of that lol.... How do I count the pins however? Like is it 1 in bottom left as it's looked at face on connected?

take out the plug and look at the face of both plug and socket to see if there are small numbers printed indicating pin locations. If theyre not there try to find out by which counting method number 3 and 12 line up, could be only one way on a 40 pin plug, I reckon.

Hey all, just in the process of doing this, however I need some clarification on the ground point. It says on my instructions bolt on steering column. Is this any bolt? I can't see any existing wires going to any bolts? Can anyone help me?

hey dude! Thanks for your reply! I think i resolved the earth issue... however, i've attempted to fit it today... I've done it all as told in my instructions but it's not working properly.

With the doors closed it unlocked a couple of times but not everytime. No lights show at all on lock or unlock. And locking the car never worked. However when i press either button i can hear the relay for the indicators going (but don't light).

With drivers side door open, when i lock/unlock it the indicators all light up but no locking/unlocking.

I'm gonna try ringing hawk and asking them for some help but if you guys have any ideas i would muchly apprechiate it!

Edit: The hawk dude was real helpful, he said that it's only working when the door is open because of my negative/earth is only negative when the door is open... (i wired it to a door negative pin or something?!) So he's advised me to call back if it's still not working after wiring it to a good negative...

Does anyone know how i route a wire from the drivers side fusebox to the glovebox?
