Could someone plase tell me where the direction indicator flasher relay is situated, so that I can connect an audio warning unit to it ?

Malcolm.

Behind the flap inside the glovebox.
Why are you doing this? Make life easier for yourself if you really want to this unecessary mod.
Run extension wires from the back of the side repeater, run it behind the wing and under the dashboard, connect your 12 audio warning thingy straight to it.

Thanks for your help, but it's virtually impossible to get at the side repeater connections (or any of the indicator lamps) from the inside, hence the reason I was looking for the flasher relay.

There is no relay behind the glove compartment, I think you must mean on the other (driver's) side.
Behind the flap there is the main fuse panel with 4 relays. None of these control the flashers although the top square relay does look like a normal flasher relay. With all four relays removed the flashers continue working but you can still hear another relay ticking somewhere nearby, but there is absolutely no sign of it.

Any suggestions please?

Malcolm.

It's a 1.2ELX version, registered in Nov. 2000 (X registration)

Anyway all of the 6 indicator lamps are completely enclosed, I would prefer to find the relay and just insert a couple of wires into the socket holes. I've never had this problem with other cars, the relay is always accessible.

Thanmks, Malcolm.
