Hi new to the forum got a problem with my daugters punto 1.2 8v y reg excessive fuel consumption it started all at onec changed the middle section of the exhaust and it started about 80miles to £20 (prob just a coinsdence it started after the exhaust went)

Lambda sensor operation and the main cat should be checked out.

id check the lamba sensors... (think theres two) and also check too see if there are any cracks in your exhaust coming from manifold.. I had one after the first sensor which was throwing the 2nd sensor out which was then telling the car to send in more petrol

how do you check lamdba sensor

Punch it in the face. If it reacts it still works if not its dead.
