Hi, I just got the lads at the local spray shop to spray the door handles, mirrors and the black strip on the rear bumper of my punto silver so my car is all one color and i wanted them to take of the side sill door protector thingys aswell but i forgot to ask them to do it. I just wondering if anyone has done it on there punto, is it an easy job that i could do myself? is the door panel behind the sill already sprayed? how could i do the job? any advise would be apprieciated!

Thanks

Do you mean the rubbing strips down the side of the doors/rear wings? If so, once youve taken them off its a pain in the arse sticking them back on. Ive seen Puntos with this done, they probably bought a new set of strips sprayed them and stuck them on. When bodyshops are spraying a door or wing, they'll order new strips rather than attempting to stick the old ones back on (Cashing in  )

Actually are you trying to say you want to remove them completely? Prepare for dints in your door if you are  There will be paint behind them but if the cars older there could be a slight difference in the shade. To get them off you could try heating with a hair dryer and and use a credit card to prise them off.......

Yep wolfrace I wanna take em off, I think it will look better with out em on as my punto will be all one color (silver). Thanks for the info I'll try the hair dryer technique.

I paid £300 for a new bumper, spoiler, door handles and mirrors to be sprayed at Al shaw's in MK. they did a 1st class job and I dont have any complaints bout the price, should i?
