Hello allll
My cars been running fine lately and now this :O
Came out of work today and car wouldn't turn over, but the battery wasnt dead, windows worked, radio etc.
The past few days its been rough starting up, I put that down to it being cold but obviously I was wrong :p

Could it be the starter motor? because when I try to turn the car over nothing happens, Its a 95 1.1 punto.

I no good at car (y)

Try getting some mates to give you a hand, But why do you want to put it on its roof.......

Ok serious answer try putting it in 1st gear and rocking the car back and forward. take it out of gear and try starting, if it makes a click then the battery is ok but the starter isnt working. If you dont hear anything then it could be the solenoid or the battery.

Does your motor turn over but not start ?, or you saying no juice at all to the engine? Maybe coil packs? Might be worth checking those out get some from a scrappers swap them over see if that does the trick. Or if you think it's the starter motor you could try this old method and give that a couple of taps with a spanner to see if it will free it, but be careful when doing this if you attempt to do so. Do'nt want you to electricute yourself!

Will give them a try later, Not having to use my car this morning I forgot my keys...Now I'm locked out of my dads house, and hes on holiday ¬_¬ bloody great

And yea it wont turn over at all, no juice lol, Seems I have to wait till wednesday when my dad gets back now, nooooooooooooooo

Tried giving the starter motor a hit to get it going but nothing happened, Rocked it back and forth in first, tried to bump start it lol
So I will give rally cinqs fix a try, I should of done it today but I forgot to take the lead with me lol

hey i have a punto 60 1.2 8v
and i have had loads of trouble starting it if its been left a while or i thought it was coz it was cold obv not.:bang:

it wont even jump off now or jump leads

what do you think it will be . i was thinking starter motor
can anyone help plzzzzzz :)

unusual for starter motors to fail; high resistive connection somewhere more likely; try cleaning both battery terminals, the earth connection and the connection on the starter motor/solenoid; if successful coat all connections liberally with vaseline; if not remove starter motor and check cog moves freely; also then test starter motor while out of engine by connecting direct to battery using your jump leads

Thanks for the quick reply,
i will try these things a.s.a.p when i get time from work

what is it like removing the starter motor if i worked at home
