HAI! Welcome to t'old forum. I got mine off my using a stanley knife and cutting as much as I could horizontally, then found out that there is also a plastic part that is attached to the ball of the gear knob so I got a small hacksaw and sawed straight down, then split it totally in half with a screwdriver

As Karbine sais you cn cut it off, but as some one else told me, stick it in 4th and pull from the backseats.
Yes this works but has been known to damage the gear stick.

When you cut off the rubber knob as Karbine says there is what looks like a ping-pong ball attatched to the gear stick. You can either cut this or get a good grip with some malgrips and squeeze. It just shatters off.

The other option is to cut the gear stick right below the origional gearknob which some people reckon makes the gear change feel sportier.

Up to you though.

Don't be scared to pull "too" hard. Just twist and pull as hard as you can.

Twist & pull, twist & pull.... a very easy job...:D
Mind you its only easy when you know the answer, but yes here, it is a very easy job......again...:D

Twist it to loosen the glue, then pull up to get it off the splines.
