I have an oil leak, which i would say was quite bad, i go through like 2 litres every cupple of days, someone had a quick look at it and seems to think that i have not got a sump plug because they can get there little finger into the bottom of the sump, is this right and if i need a new plug where can i get one from? I have tried Kevin Coopers and Halford and they dont do them,

Also how do i know if i have power steering i have a 1999 R 60 Sx Punto,

Thankssss

The sump plug has a hex-shaped hole in it for an allen key fitting, so depending how small the little finger is, it could be that they are putting their finger in. To be fair, you would be losing 2 litres every 2 minutes, not 2 days if that was missing.

As for the power steering, turn the ignition to unlock the steering lock, and try to turn the wheel. Then, start the engine, and leaving it in neutral, try to turn the steering wheel again. If it gets considerably lighter, then you have it, if it feels the same, then you don't. To be honest, power steering was a very expensive option on the 60 SX, so it is unlikely to have it. One less thing to worry about!

hi, i rekon you would have power steering i have got it and mine is 1999 s reg and few other people at work have and theres are older then mine.

Thats is a bad oil leak get it checked out 2litres every couple of days the engine only holds around 3.8litres so serious damage may occur if not sorted, main items to check are rocker cover, oil filter & sump gaskets.
