Hey guys, :)

I've had my Fiat Punto Active sport since November last year... its had a few issues with it, and i've been able to get passed most until now:confused:... When I first got it, the ECU needed replacing within a week! Not sure if the owner before knew about it! But all of a sudden after a couple days driving the engine management light came on and the car was running in "safe" mode, so was running on what felt like 2 cylinders... So I got that repaired... and the car was ok... last month I noticed if I press the acceleration with anything more then a gentle push the engine seems to be cutting out at between 1000 and 2000 revs... regardless of gear, after approximately 2000 revs its fine, but anything before that and it dosnt like it! I took it back to the garage, and they thought it might be the ecu again, so underwarranty I got that replace, but the same issue was still there, so i've been driving the car with the issue and I really want it fixed now, as I can only drive the car like im driving miss daisy!

Any one got any ideas what it could be? It feels like the engine has a misfire or something and then the ECU tries to protect it by using less cylinders??? But then im just guessing, the garage said they think its possible it could be something to do with the injection, they also replaced the ignition leads? Please help!:slayer::slayer::slayer::slayer::slayer::slayer::slayer:

Not sure if its the same but theres a really common problem with juddering at low revs - esp on cold mornings. I had it for 6 months and nearly sold the car. Fixed it this week by changing spark plugs, vaccuming air filtering and cleaning HT leads. Might be a totally different problem but might be worth trying - my car now drives better than the day I got it (I also have 1.2 active sport)

Sounds like you got a injector problem my friend, first try putting some injector clearer in the fuel take but don't use to much because you'll be buying a new cat next mot!
if not them you'll need to go to a garage that has got a injector pressure tester-- but if you got the money and you want the car sorting got to main dealer and let them stick it on the computer (y)

Thank you for the advice guys! I can't really afford to go to the main dealer, so ill try both the ideas you have come up with! I had it down at a mates garage that deal with Mercedes so they are pretty clued up on them, but Puntos are not there speciality lol... anyways, Ill ask them if they did any pressure tests, I know they did a test to see if the head gasket had pressure issues and it turned out fine. But ill double check, once again thank you so much for the ideas... Ill try them out and let you know whats happening!

Thanks for the advice, ill see if I can get them changed, I know I had the sparks changed in november, ....and the HT leads are they the leads that connect the spark plugs together etc? Because I think I had that changed with a new set..., so I guess its just the filters I should change on that area and get the others checked... thanks again for the advice, lets hope it makes the difference!:D
