Can anyone help me, my squeaky Punto is driving me nuts!
Every time I get in the thing its got another noise!

Its a 52 plate Punto 1.2 Active.

When I reverse it make a weird clunking, clicking sound.

Mentioned this to the garage when I had a new clutch fitted, after more squeaking and juddering, they didnt really seem too concerned.

Have just took it for a 2nd year low mileage service and mentioned it again, they said they will have to 'investigate' and strip the gearbox.
Ive got mechanical cover but they cant say what the problem is or if it will be covered.

Mechanical cover for shafts, bearings and bushes, synchromesh hubs and selectors, extension shaft, gear linkage and gear lever.

Its all foreign to me as I know nothing about cars, only how to drive them. Could it be one or several of these that are causing the noise?

I will have to agree to the investigation on the condition that I pay for repairs if not covered by the mechanical cover. Dont want it to cost a fortune!

Can anyone please help me.

Thanks

Hi and thanks for reply.

Probably more noticable when I go slow but happens at any speed. This has got to have been the squeakiest car ive known. Sure the garage just love to laugh at me as I attempt to describe the noises!)

Will have to see if engine mount covered in policy.

Thanks
