Hi everybody,

I have changed my stock air filter with a Green air filter. Unfortunately we don't have any induction kits for Punto Mk2b here in Turkey. So for a temporary solution i removed the original air filter box placed on top of the engine and attached the filter to the original hose (not the best place, i know).

I have to make my own induction kit now and i need to know if there will be any problems if I disconnect the breather pipe from the induction hose and put a filter at the end of the breather pipe, in terms of stability and performance?

thanks :)

No. But check the law in your country as it's illegal to vent to atmosphere in the UK.

Your engine bay will also get dirty.

thanks richie.guy :)

as far as I know it is not illegal. but a dirty engine bay makes me think a second time.

Are Turkey now part of the EU? If so, then it is probably illegal to vent to the atmosphere now. Welcome to the nanny state.

As for your induction kit, you should connect the breather pipe to the induction pipe, rather than using a small breather filter on the end. You may need to use a little extension hose to do this.

We are not part of the EU yet.

Well considering the environmen :) I will not use the filter and will try to attach the pipe to the new induction kit. I will be using steel pipes and I may be able to weld a small part to attach the breather pipe.

I looked at the photos of GSR induction kit and see that the air filter is placed lower left side of the angine bay behind the bumper i think. Unfortunately I can only place the air filter infront of the battery.

thanks everybody
