Unhappy 1.9 JTD turns but wont start

Folks, hope you can help.
2003 JTD ran without issue, parked up overnight and now it turns over but wont fire.
Iv checked and have fuel to the injectors.
From looking at the key, there is no immobilisor fitted.
Iv got the battery fully charged. Hot or cold, there is no signs of ignition at all.
Previously the glow plugs were only on 3-4 second to produce faultless starts.
The glow plug dash light stays on steady until off, appearing to operate correctly.

Thats about all i have on the fault.

Also i dont have a manual but what is the dash light that looks simiular to a door or window??

Any ideas please......

A 2003 should have the standard fiat imobiliser.

Do you have a blue key? near the base of the metal part there should be a little number '2'. This indicates the car has fiat code 2 imobiliser.

03 jtd's have immobilisers
it won't be the glow plugs at fault, their not needed this time of year

when you turn the ignition on can you hear the fuel pump?

Im more used to working on the Peugeot engines, however.
Where did you check the fuel. it might have had pressure but it needs a fair bit for the injector to electronically open.
Be careful do not check by removing an injector we are talking risk of death as diesel injectors on jtds operate at serious psi

The injector is controlled partly via a cam sensor and a crank sensor. you can have diesel all the way to the injector but it wont be put it in the engine if these are at fault. also in the rail there should be a pressure sensor which will only allow the injector to fire at the correct pressure.

Re: 1.9 JTD turns but wont start

Thanks all who made suggestions.
Mdeko, it was the key at fault. I tried the spare and the car started fine. I did not realise there was an immobiliser or i would have checked this prior.
Every days a school day eh.
Is it normal for these keys to lose their code??, i will check on here as im sure someone else must have experienced this.
Thanks again
