Car LED number plate lights.

I saw a car last night with them on but pretty sure its illegal. Im sure the light has to be white or amber(cant remember) that lights up the number plate. The blue led looks really nice, and would look nice on my black punto to have the rear number plate at night shine blue, rather than the standard colour

Am i correct or is this illegal?

Re: Car LED number plate lights.

As far as i know, you can't use Green,Red or Blue ( in Ireland ). Any other colour should be fine.
