Well, I thought I'd just enquire out of interest really. :p
I drive a 2000 MK2 Punto, just the bog standard model, with all original features, except the CD player which I had fitted earlier this year.

Is it possible to hook up an aftermarket, in fact, is there such thing as aftermarket air conditioning? If so how much do these cost, and can they be fitted easily or does it take a lot of farting around with wires etc?

Just today driving around it was boiling even with the cool air blower on and the windows down!

There is a button on the far right of the centre console, I assume that's an air con button for other models, but there's no marking on it, can I wire up that button to power the air con if I was to fit an aftermarket unit?!

The air con button is the fan speed button. You press it to turn it on if you have air con.

It will be alot of trouble fitting aircon to your car now, Your best bet is to find a punto that broken or had a rear-end bump with the same engine that has aircon and tranfer the parts over. Its alot of hassal but anything is possible with enough time/money.

I see. :p I thought if it was easy I'd give it a try, but considering it's time consuming I probably won't. Thanks anyway, though! :D
