Ok first off I have searched this topic and found one of the worst threads ever, just a bunch of folks swearing and slating each others opinions. I will ask a mod personally to delete this thread if that starts again and its MY thread.

So my question is:

I have removed my rear window wiper, it looks nicer, and stops the wiper blade bouncing off the glass with the vibrations off my subwoofer. I do not wish for opinions on whether its a good idea or not, all I want to know is, will it pass an MOT?

I have read that if one is fitted it has to work but if it doesn't have one altogether then its ok. However I don't know if it meant that if one was factory fitted it has to stay, or if it was taken off its ok.

I know that if you have a spare wheel it has to be in ok condition to pass but if you don't have one at all it will still pass, just wondering if the rear wiper follows the same rules.

as far as i know yeah, i know enough people with it done and they have had no issues at mot time, you will need to apply rainex to your back window

Well I rarely use my rear wipers and I have some water repellant spray for the rear window so should be ok.

Plus my sub acts as a rear window wiper if its on loud enough
