Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if traveling at high speeds or strong gusts of wind can cause the radiator fan to spin super quick. I believe the bearing are on their way as it makes a few nasty noises...

Cheers

Not really since the fan is behind the bumper and the radiator which restrict airflow substantially.

Thanks...Heres one more then,

Would the fans motor ever operate whilst the car is moving? The sound is coming from that area plus when im parked and the fan kicks in, it squeels like a piglet being stamped on :)

Thanks again

Have you checked it's not loose at all?

Is the manifold heat shield OK?

The fan may spin but it's unlikely and won't be at any speed unless it's operational.

I aint no mechanic but it all seems OK. Ill just have to wait and see. Im getting a new fan and motor anyway because the bearings are clearly knackered and hopefully *crossed fingers* the noise will dissappear...if not then back to the drawing board :)

How would the heat shield generate a noise?

Thanks

ooo i will have to have a look then...Cheers, once the bonnet release cable is replaced that is haha ITS SNAPPED!!! Is the heat shield really neccessary?

Thanks Yous

No it's not really necessary, but better to have it than not if possible.

Cheers guys...i will get this all checked out as soon as i can open the bonnet.

Thanks again
