Hey, My sisters '53 1.2 8v active sounds truly awful on start up and idle, it sounds like a diesel and compared to my w-reg 1.2 8v just sounds awful, she also reported its using a load of fuel.

Being my sister, she hasn't had it serviced in a long time so...guess what I'm doing tomorow

Going to change the spark plugs, air filter and oil filter and oil.
I've got my haynes trusty haynes manual

Just wondering if theres anything i need to watch out for, particularly with the spark plugs and oil filter. How hard is this?

It's all very easy.

Worth changing the HT leads and doing the gearbox oil too.

So i don't need any specialist tools or anything? I didn't think i would but i don't want to start and then realise i can't finish lolz.

Where is the gearbox oil cap? i take it its in haynes anyway

Drain is at the back of the box, fill is behind the battery on top. There's a plastic grommet on it.

easier to get oil filter off with oil filter chain tool
