Hello all. I really need to get a new radio for my 2001 Fiat Punto some time. Currently I have a blaukpunkt (sp?) radio. It isnt very good. The display only works if you press the radio hard against the area you put it in but still plays music albeit with a blank face. If anyone knows how to fix this I would be grateful. Otherwise, anyone know where I can get a new affordable one? (preferably up to £40). Thanks! :)

Mine did that, it seems to be if it's rarely driven, or if you take it for a good long run, it will be fine. :)

Alternatively, get this one fitted from Halfords :) £39.99 for the CD player, half price at £19.99 to get it fitted. I got the same one and it's basic, but it looks stylish and does the job nicely.

Thanks! I'll look into it and browse around on the site to see if there is anything else on offer as well

Don't forget though that a standard single DIN fitting stereo will not slide into the mkII Punto dash as-is. You need an adapter plate and bracket, which I think you can get for around £15-25.

Of course, I may be wrong on the price, my mkI has standard DIN fitting as it is.

Are you sure? Mine was just a hole and the Head unit was DIN size and it slid straight in, alls I needed was the fascia and a plate which screwed to the top end of the headunit to secure the front of it over the fascia...
