Ok so i have two issues with my Wreg Punto mk2.

Firstly my radio went kaput! after the live wire snapped out of my battery whilst doing 30 on a busy road (new pants needed)...now after stupidly giving it to a mate who could "fix" it, it now only says WAIT and gives no option to put the code in, any suggestions?

Secondly, My oil warning light comes up whenever i;ve been driving for a bout 2.5 miles but goes away with even the tiniest bit of acceleration, i mean i'd only have to tap the pedal with my toe lightly and it goes away but comes back as soon as the revs die down. car has a full tank of oil So im stuck!:bang:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi mate, and Welcome to the forum!!

Firstly, each time you enter an incorrect code into the radio, it will make you wait for a set period of time before you can type the code in again. If its entered incorrectly several times, it will make you WAIT for up to a maximum of 24 hours. So all you need to do is leave it on and WAIT and eventually it will disappear and display CODE. At which point you will be able to enter your code.

Regarding the oil light, this should be properly looked into asap as it would appear you are getting low oil pressure at idle. There are several things that COULD cause it, ranging from the incorrect grade of oil, to a dying oil pump, worn shells etc. I would start by checking the basics, as in, if you dont know what oil you currently have in your engine, change it for some of the correct grade. If it still illuminates, then more in depth investigation is needed.

Hope that helps,
Alan

thanks alot, i will try by changing the oil, just wondering if you know...

would 0w-30 be any good for 1.2 sporting and how much it would cost to get an oil pump replaced.

My poor wallet!
