First off. Hi!

I've followed this forum for quite a bit and it's help me with alot on my car.

I need some advice on changing alloys, please be aware that I come from a computing background not a car/mechanical one so please bare with me.

My mums car (City Rover 54 Plate) is being written off because it's uneconomical to repair however it's got some nice alloys with i believe low profile. She's just had new tyres on them all, including the spare.

In short I'd like to nick them for my Fiat Punto 03 plate.

However I know nothing about what I would need to find out before swapping them over. I understand that wheel size, tyre size and offset etc are a factors however with no experiance with this sort of thing I'm hoping someone on here can treat me like and idiot and really dumb what I need to know down.

I already assume alot more information is needed off me so just let me know what infomation is needed and the most likly place I can find it.

The only ready information I know is both sets of wheels are 15"

Thanks in advance.

not sure on the cenrte bore but the stud diameter of the rover will be 4x100 and the punto is 4x98 so first off you would need wobbly/correction bolts, if the centre bore of the alloys is too small they would have to be re-bored (centre hole made larger to fit onto your punto hubs. If its too big you would need spigots (slightly tapered plastic rings to make up the few mm in space around the hub else the alloys would be resting completely on the bolts which is not good)

Best bet, sell the rover alloys and buy some that will fir the punto properly but before you go and advertise the rover alloys do some homework and find out what other card they would fit as vauxhall's and renault's and a few other cars use a 4x100 stud diameter so to get a good price find out what they will fit before advertising as anyone who buys them will want to know that anyway and you are much more likely to get a good price.

PCD bolts will be needed.
New spigots will be needed.
Offset of the wheels needs to be investigated - should be stamped on them.
