:bang: Hi wonder if any1 can help (I'm a newbie to this forum)

I recently bought a used '97 fiat punto s60.....it runs great for its age but on about 4 occasions I have had a problem with the car starting... I put the key in the ignition but it won't turn!..... I am able to turn the key the opposite way down by pressing the little navy button on the ignition to turn on the parking lights but I cant turn the key up to turn on the electrics or engine...... After about two minutes of panicing and taking the key out then trying again and again it usually starts?!?!!...... If any1 knows what the problem is or what I'm doing wrong please let me know!!

Thanx

It could be I've usually been parked at funny angles when it happens (it's my first car), how to you unlock the steering wheel??

mine did something similar last night.. it seemed to be fully turned but no engine.
I just turned it back and tried again, maybe it was the way i was doing it.. it was late at night :p

evet: to get the steering lock off, just move the wheel slightly as you turn the key

thanx :) I'll try that next time it happens, I probably did move the steering wheel when the key turned last time but didn't notice because I was panicing

mine does that if i turn the ignition off then leave the key in (steering lock not on) when i come to restart the key wont move, i have to take the key out put it back in and no probs.

puntos are know too stick sometimes, do the wheel wiggle thing and squirt some wd40 into the lock barrel if you have some.
