hi.... ive got a wiper problem.....and its really getting on my wick...

ive read all about everyone elses wiper problems but mine is slightly different....

basically when you turn the ignition on the wipers randomly start working by themselves.....and after 2 wipes stop halfway down the screen!
when you use the wipers in any of the settings on the stalk...they work fine....until you turn em off...and then they stop halfway down the screen! if you click the stalk upwards....you get a couple of wipes...not a single one and then the wipers stop....you guessed it...halfway down the screen!

to get the wipers to park in the correct position you have to tap the stalk until you get them to the right place!

i read somewhere on here that this could be a dicky wiper relay..... but where exactly is that?!?

were talking about a mk3 active sport..... registered very late 2003.

any help would be..... well you can imagine.....most welcome!!!!

cheers(y)

Hi, relay should be on the main fuse board drivers side, by your right knee, remove plastic screws to gain access, if not sure which relay put finger on each relay in turn, operate wipers you should feel & hear it click.

Hey, did you sort the problem out? I've got the same problem but not sure whether it is the stalk or relay?

Any help would be appreciated. cheers

Start by cleaning the wiper motor switch track on the motor gearbox and making sure the auto park brush is ok. It could also be the stalk switch. The easiest test is swap the whole switch stalk unit for another one.

You get the motor parking halfway up the screen and operating weirdly if an early wiper motor/linkage is fitted to a late (2003-) Punto.

Hey

I had a problem with my wiper blades to.

This is what I did.
Open the bonnet, find the wiper motor. Then operate the wiper. You'll notice the finishing position for the motor is angled the wrong way. You'll need to take off the wiper assembly and then reposition it so that when the motor stops it is angled the right way.

This is exactly my problem, I bought it with the van, I have a 04 Punto Multijet Van 1248cc (1.3) diesel The seller told me he fitted the motor himself and was then told it is the wrong one. Can anyone tell me the part no. of the motor for this model or where I can find it.(y)
