Hi everyone,
My first thread but probably not my last.
2001- 1.2 Punto - 8 valve - Mk2
I have removed the HT leads and didn't take notice of position. DOH
I know that the rear coil is for 1 and 4 and the front coil is for 2 and 3 but does it matter which way round they go in the individual coil packs.
I could use the trial and error method but I am waiting for a new ECU so I would like them to be correct when this is fitted.
At the moment I have them as 1,4, 2,3 from back of car to front.
Thanks in advance.

Stand on the passenger side, looking over the battery at the coils. You'll see it cast into the head.

Hi Guys,
I have a 2001 1.2 8v Mia which is misfiring. In idle the car shudders quite violently and misfires in most gears. The car was fine until i decided to change the oil, filter and spark plugs. Oil and filter was fine although i discovered a blocked breather (think its sorted), but when changing one of the spark plugs i broke a HT lead. With new HT leads, i replaced the one i broke, (1. Does it matter what length lead i used?) and now im not sure if the leads are fully on the spark plugs or in right order despite only doing one at a time. Can anyone give the correct coil to plug order (ie left to right spark to back to front coils). Open to suggestions....

Have you read any of the thread above telling you where to look?,

ie, here-

The order differs, so there's no definitive answer (sometimes it's 1423, sometimes 2314). Only way to be certain is to look at the casting.

Cyl #1 is cambelt-end.

Done all the necessary checks as above -still nothing. Ended up in the garage - turns out it was the fuel injector. I some how bent it when screwing the spark plugs in. Problem solved!
