Punto was playing up today (n)

I pulled out of a turning but the car wouldnt accelerate past 20mph :(

Put the foot to the floor (not really advisable in built area) and still nothing happened

Got through the lights still could only get 20 so pulled over turned off, started off again all was fine :)

Any clues (y)

How old are the sparks and leads?

I thought it might be those but didn't want to write it up as no mechanic.....

It's on 51k miles so is a due a service @ 54k iwas thinking of changing the plugs an leads what is the best make to get for plugs and what are the gaps?

Can you get magnecor leads for a punto mk2?

Don't know about magnecors but you can get K1 leads.

I'd get standards from Fiat, I've tried magnecors on other cars and K1's on Fiats and they make no difference they just look pretty and put a dent in your wallet (3 x the cost of fiat ones).

NGK iridiums are what I'd reccomend for sparks.

Remember service intervals are mileage or time, whichever comes first.

My Punto has lack of power in the mornings, when i turn out the end of my road and accelerate it holds back from between 10-20 mph, it starts to wake up after 10 seconds or so... (like when its 'warmed up') and it seems a bit sluggish of late. Would this be the same problem, i would need new sparks and plugs? and anything else?
I had a service 5-6 months ago and dont think they were changed then. It didnt used to be as bad after i had the service.

Help would be really appreciated thanks.

didn't get the plugs fitted today , I had to refurb one of newly refurbed wheels after swapping the rear Tyres over the other day the guy at the garage damaged one :0( the mrs said she could hardly see it but I knew it was there so I re did the whole wheel, plus did her Cab with auto glym roof cleaner and protector....

Well I changed the plugs yesterday starting on the right when standing in front of the car please remember i never do anthing to my cars except polish normally , everything done by garages i can trust (y)

Anyway did the right one out it came no probs an nice chocalate brown thread and heavy carbon on the tip this was the same on the fourth one

No. 2 & 3 well first of all what Ba****** to get out they arent in a good place if you have big hands and then getting the ones I have to admit the new plug did fall through here  but got in the hole in the end ;) I dont normally have that problem ...... :D honest :ROFLMAO:

Any way new plugs in and off for a thrash (I mean drive) all was fine

Out this morning and pulling on to the main road and same thing happened.

Oh well no money wasted those plugs were sad :(

Next for some leads some advice on the best ones to fit appreciated....

Also if not plugs and leads some more clues anyone .......
