Ok, so i've been saying it for a while "I'll make a new thread about my car soon" but here it is. before you all go bitching i've done nothing to it for ages.. as the recesion forced me outta my job and lack of fund ect. i havent even driven it untill a few days ago.. so here goes!

Tinted rear light left the reflector at the botom un touched! .. want to do them again darker and need to wet and dry them and polish after!

Amps .. 2 for sub 1 for rear speakers



got mounts to replace standard speakers .. vibe black air 5's and you wouldnt know they were there!



fitted the MRS up with a tinted windows and an electric motor .. im still on un tinted and no electric !! i got the stuff but havent got round to fitting it !



roof ariel got farked up by a car wash so that was removed .. i will ghet round to filling it properly one day!



induction ket .. very dirty under here .. perhaps i should cleans it .. also painted head of engine balc and oil filler white (that was a bad move and its now pretty much black again with grit)



got a bigger baterry had to hack at what was already there to fit it in .. i also claim to have noticed a small boost in acceleration when this was first fitted .. i dont notice this anymore .. could be because i've got used to it . or because battery had drained!!



Engine bay . strut brace .. pesky condensation on driver side light .. oil on inductyion kit from oil leak .. all sorted now though runs excelent!



so as you can see i have made a start but not even come close to finishing! most of the work need going back over and making good but in general the car look good just a few finsihes to whats been done

i have the elect bit for my drivers side door but i wanted to get door cards from a sporting or gt so i can easily put in the speakers! i also have remote locking kit for it but just havent got round to fixing it !

comments and suiggestions offers of parts that willhelp whatever you like .. enjoy!!! oh and pictures as i do stuff!

I think you've got quite a bit of potiential here! The black halo (?) lights looks really good on the white car. Got any plans regarding matching bumpers? I actually like the standard black ones, I'd probably change the front bumper to a GT/diesel widemouth one and either keep it black like the rear, or get them both done in white with black bumpstrips. And perhaps remove the strips on the doors as well as the rear decals. Costs money though... :doh:

I'd consider sticking good quality matte black vinyl (3M etc) on the b-pillar, aligned with the windowlines... Err, it's better to show with a quick PS. Will edit my post with a pic in a few minutes

sweet .. well i realu liek the front bumber on teh basis that its ntp a very chanvy one and gives it a more euro e/ rando look .. yeah removing the door things is a mission the drivers side is of but i have sticky stuff to remove.. and i was gunna keep the rear bumper as a standard one but colour code it! i do agree that the balck bumpers look nice, but i wanted that little extra modifiedness!

i have mirrors with indicators to go on they just need sparying then i can get rid of the indication on the wings.. ill do the badges whilst im at it! and i will egt round to the boot at some point! but i wanna have enough money fro the spray job before i start as i dont want a mixed matched car .. ive had that before as some of you may remember!

yeah ive seen that it looks quite cool and the punto has the base line for it built .in !! just got a bug and ive taken that black thing off my roof (ariel thingy) and ive got some white sealant ive applied to make it look tidyer .. also just ring scarppies trying to get door cards for a sporting or gt .. do any models like the elx have door speakers?

Lookin good atm...pleanty of potential.

The next easy, free, mod should be to remove the badges on the wing by the indicator, with your exhaust the car probably sounds mean but your advertising that its only 60 bhp. Quick job to do, just hot water or hairdryer and a phone card, leaves no holes, just some sticky stuff that comes off without too much work.

As for the rest its looking pretty sweet at the moment, just needs the boot tidying up and a bit of colour coding (get you handles done when you get the rear bumper done)

hmm .. i was thinking about removing the handles .. ive seen on a friends old jetta he had a button under his wing mirror that opened the door on a poper .. was tempted to go for this .. or when i wirein the central locking wire in another motor thingy to it so it opos open when i unlock the car.. the passenger door can be opened from inside .. has anyone removed locks and handles on therepunto .. how does it look?

yeah .. its ok runs nice .. has a few nitty gritty mechanical issues but i'll get round to them at some point!

for a non-oem aftermarket front bumper, that looks really good. I dont think theres anything else that looks as good (bar fiat's designs, of course)

next i would concentrate on cleaning up the untidy bits of the car. smoked/crystal side repeaters, rear bumper, then sideskirts, de-rubstrip, and do something with the doorcards and the rest of the interior so it doesnt clash anymore.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion really, its quite chavvy just not as much as some and its just not euro at all, standard smoothed bumpers would be euro

Not tryiing to mock, just my opinion. I actually quite like the car overall but not the front bumper, standard wide-mouth with a splitter i think would look much cooler but each there own.

Oh and that induction kit, swivel it round a bit so it isn't sitting directly over the exhaust, pretty sure you'll feel a different, especially on a hot day had same kit on my cinq (which has a 60s engine incidently so exactly the same as yours). Theres less room in my bay obviously so it had to go sideways but you should do the same thing..

You know, i just saw your Sig Munkul and thought, i never seen a mk1 with the mk2 abarth bumpers, completely off topic i know but a mint project idea! reckon the kit would be more than you can get a mk1 punto for these days as well lol.

lol, dont reckon it would suit the lines of the mk1 at all though - the mk2 is angular and sharp; the mk1 is rounded and smooth. thats IMO of course.

I would like to see someone chop em up to fit a cinq though

i hadntthough about the air filter being above the inlet .. ill get to that sharpish .. i just went to raceparts uk and got some exhaust wrap .. but in the instructions it says i need some clips .. they didnt bloody tell me and its miles away .. do you rekon i could get away with those metal clips you would use on your induction kit??

i do like that front bumper .. i know its not a euro but its kinda between and i dont think it looks to chavy! but as you says its each to there own.. yeah bump strips i may take off this afternoon .. ah the perks of being self-employed!!

and mikee i think he was implying that someone SHOULD do it as he has never seen it ..

also look at my sig i photoshoped the car in the small one to have no handles and no locks .. what do you think does it look ok? or should i leave them there?

Although tbh if i got my hands on onbe of the kits reckon it'd be going on my mum's punto rather than chopping it up. Might be worth a try with a cheapo repro one though.
