hi just wondering how hard it is to remove and replace front fog lights in a mk2 punto, i have seen a punto at a local scrapyard and it has the front spotlights, how hard is it going to be to remove these and wire them in and fit to mine? also what bits do i need to take off the scrap one?

Quite hard. I wouldnt bother.
thought it might be a challange, scrap dealer is also quite greedy, but i would really like to do it. it doesn't bother me how hard it is really. would like to know if it will take me all day just to remove it. and and how hell to do it!:D

i think its an easy job you just swap your headlight units for ones with foglights iirc the wireing is already there
you'll also need the the center console switch unit with the front fog switch the silver bit in the photo (also available in black)

other members have done it, although i don't think it'll be easy on early base models or mia models as they have different electrics ie; models without central locking and electric windows

i have central locking ad electric windows! im gonna try it what the hell! do you know anyone that has tried it on here that can give me a guide?(y)

Seriously dont bother. You wont notice a difference or are you just wanting to be one of those tvvats that drive around with them on all the time?

well i do quite alot of driving at night so any extra light is welcomed and ill be glad to get rid of that little black circle (blank switch) on the console. and no i wont be driving round with them all the time, but thanks for suggesting i could be a tvvat.(y)

cool, im going to leave this thread until i get some money sorted, and then pick it back up and map my progress/problems with fitting them!! just 1 thing, i need to remove...
bulb holders
switch from inside
fuse?

you would need these:

new fuse box (as yours probably doesnt have contacts for fog relay)

relay for fogs + fuses

fog jacks

central console with a fog switch

and light cluster with fogs.

When you get all of these, its (almost) just plug and play.

I considered this and needed about 300$ just to get parts, so I bailed. Went 4 HID instead.

Hi I saw your thread on the fiat forum and wondered if you managed to connect up fog lights with existing fuse boxes B2 (inside) and B1 (engine Bay) using wire loom?. I have a wiring diagram for this from a fiat dvd manual with diagrams as I was planning on doing the same myself but not sure if the standard engine bay fuse box (B1) has the connections to plug in relay switch into slot R14.
I have a centre console from a Mk 2 sporting with fog switch. When I press the fog switch the green fog light symbol appears on the dash board. So I know the Switch talks to the body computer (M1).
Below is a description of how the fogs are connected for Punto MK 2. I will send you diagrams on email also if you like?
Functional Description
The fog lights circuit is controlled by a special relay R14 in the engine bay junction control unit B1. The relay coil is supplied by the ignition line (15/54) with an earth signal from body computer M1 pin 8 connector C. The relay Power Line, protected by fuse F30 of the engine bay junction unit B1, supplies two fog lights: LEFT F15 and right F16, through pins 4 and 5 of connector B.
Body computer M1 ensures the circuit in question is properly managed and receives the switch panel light H90 activation command at pin 20 connector E. When the dipped beam headlamp signal is present, the body computer sends an earth signal that energises the relay. This is also illuminated when the switch is pressed.
At the same time, the body computer M1 controls the activation of the foglamp light on the instrument panel E50.
The supply for the body computer M1 is both controlled by the ignition and direct at pin 11 of connector E and pin A of connector C of the junction unit under the dash board B2.
The direct supply is controlled by a fuse F2, located in the engine bay junction unit B1.
These lines even supply the instrument panel and split inside the junction unit under the facia. The lines are protected by fuses F37 and F53.

Pins 8 and 9 connector B of the body computer are connected to earth.

Sucess!

Fiat Punto fogs working on ELX!

Upgrade Standard Model: Punto MK II ELX 1.2 8v - No fogs

You will Need:

1) Fiat sporting or HGT Centre Console Silver Switch Assembly (which has front fog switch. I Paid £11 for this off ebay which also included the silver console for fan control.

2) Fiat sporting or HGT Engine Bay Fuse box ,which has Fuse F30 and Relay T14 needed for fogs. I Typed "Fiat Punto HGT Breaking" into ebay and found one nearby and paid £20 for whole unit.

3) Fiat sporting or HGT Head Lights or equivilant angel eye style lights
Again I used ebay and found a pair with foglights fitted for £50

Total including postage £106.00

From Then on its plug and play.

1) Changing centre console switch assembly very easy look in Guides on how to do this.

2) Changing Fuse Board in engine bay. Take of lid, undo 2 clips down right hand side lift fuse box up. Look Underneath and right down colour codes or wiring looms (Brown, Black, Blue, Grey and Fan connector) so you remeber where they go. Unplug all 5 cables. 2 have clips and 3 are push in then pull type. Next disconnect the fuse board from battery and swap over connecting back up the same way.

3) Swap Head Lights Over and plug existing small connectors black/purple wires to fog lights.

Job Done!
