Hi

I own a 03 Punto 1.2 and yesterday I noticed that when it turned of the ignition and removed the key, the oil warning light and engine management light stayed on. When I turned the engine back on the lights went out, and stayed out while I was driving the car.

Now whenever I take the key out of ignition the above lights stayed on, this afternoon the fuel gauge light stayed on, but when I started the car and then turned engine off the fuel gauge light went out but oil and engine management light have stayed on.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this. Is it a serious problem, or a electrical fault.

I would really appreciate any advice.

Thanks :p

Had this Problem with my MK2 01 PLate Punto, Did this worked a Treat many, Many thanks...

My handbrake light keeps coming on especially if i turn right handed sharply (and yes, the handbrake is firmly off). I recently had a new battery fitted and it still intermittently comes on so the battery disconnection idea hasnt solved it.

Handbrake light is also the brake fluid level light. Check fluid level visually and if no leaks, its time for pads/shoes/discs and or drums.

Cheers
