Hi All
I decided I wanted a change from the cinquecentos as ive had them for the last 5 years ! I spotted a hgt punto on here few weeks ago and come to a deal with the owner .
So on sunday my Father And I took the nice long drive from Gloucester all the way to Dundee .
Was abot 420 miles each way !
Left Gloucester at 4 am the cinq drove perfect all the way up with a stop in the lake district for full english ! got there about 11 ish
Mark turned up did the deal !
Was a bit unhappy as the drivers front tyre was bold as a bold thing thats very bold ! and no garages open on sunday to get it changed !! so we had to risk driving it back !!!
After about 10 miles on the way back i notised a horrible rumble coming from the brakes on the near side !!! The pad had worn to the metal !!! :bang:.
So every time you applied the brakes the car shot over to the middle of the road (not fun )!!!!
after taking the car through some amazing scotish lanes got back to the motorway only to get as far as charnock richards services the engine management light had come on after a **** break the car would not start !!!!:bang:
After having a look at it i gave up and called the AA out to help !.
An hour later the bloke turned up came to the conclusion that that crank sensor was not working ! DOH!!
So another hour passed then a different AA man came to get us and drove us to the m5 strencham services to get a proper truck to take us the last 30 miles ! the stupid thing was the car started fine when the 2nd aa man got there but I didnt want to drive the car with a bold tyre and ****ed brakes !!!
so got free ride home :slayer:
Yesterday the car started fine drove to get tyre done and the pads as well (saves me getting dirty )
car is driving alot better but the drivers shock is on its last legs !

So all in all a brill start to punto ownership hahaha gotta love the fiats !!

Hope the brake discs arent damaged. They aren't all that much trouble, took me a whole 3 months before anything started to go wrong with mine

Crikey, that's a bald tyre alrite. Wonder how far out the tracking was.

not a clue thats the next job to do ! as well as quite a few other lol!!

im loving youre laxed attitude!! i would have been sh*****g bricks driving it with effectively no brakes and a bald tyre! wonder what will break next?!

that tyre is f*cked haha. i wouldve been scared driving that. Nice car though welcome to the punto section.

a cinq wouldn't have done that to you..

plenty of life in that break pad tho, good effort but this rover 600 pad will take some beating - it dint half make a noise!

Shame about the problems you experienced with it. :/
Were any of these faults advertised when you bought the vehicle?

I suppose it'll be alright once it's fixed, though

As i already told yo matey, nice looking car and the best colour too I'm shocked he let you drive all that way without mentioning any of those problems. Especially the tyre, which you could have got points on your licence for and thats just the start of it.

all i can say is its a fiat Fix It Again Tommorow ..

Cheers guys . to top it off the front bolt ont the front swing arm was not tight ... thats why the tracking was out poor punto was unloved before ..
Its driving really well and f**k me its a shed load quicker then the cinq and it has sooooo many toys lol when u spary the water it wipes for you !!! amazing :slayer:

see the punto is the shiz .. i bet it feels REALY BIG as well .. even from other cars everyone coments on how mine feels big inside .. despite looking realy small i guess mk2's are the same!

yeah feels massive lol in the cinq i always hit misses knee when going to 2nd gear haha but the punto is huge can fit all the tesco shop in the boot not the back seat hehehe:slayer:
