I have managment light on and have had it diagnosed at friends garage as P1171. The car is 2000 Punto 1.2 16v. The problem is none of his ODB2 code manuals show a P1171 against this model/year ?

Can anyone help ? Fiat will do nothing without an £80 diagnosis fee - which i'm told may come back inconclusive anyway !! don't fancy wasting £80 if i can help it ...

Basically, the fault code occurs when the car is running on LPG. The LPG installer doesn't have a clue what it is either ?!?!?!

P1171 is a Fiat specific manufacturer code. According to the list I have there are 3 definitions for it:

Self Adaptive Parameter DTV
Test Break off, Cylinder Regulating
Test Interuption, Testing One

I've no idea what any of them mean in real life.

If your not prepared to pay to have the car diagnosed your only other option is to guess seeing as no one else can fix it.

£80 is nothing compared to BT guy knocking on your door then crossing over the threshold (thats £120) before he starts doing anything at £90/hour!
