hi everyone,

just tested my miles per gallon, i have a T reg SX60 and it worked out to be around 31mpg, according to parkers.co.uk it should do 41mpg, new i guess. i was quite suprised at how many it did do really, i thought it would be less being that it is about 10 years old. so just wondered how much everyones elses did and is there anyway to boost this up a bit.

Covered in loads of Threads and Posts... Heavy right foot = poor mpg.
Driving style, road types and driving conditions have a major impact on MPG as does the condition the engine air filter is in. Generally a well looked after car driven appropriately will return reasonable economy, my MJet gives me 51mpg even with 193 Bhp if I drive it right, 55mpg on an extended M/way run keeping to the limits or just below. If I boot it a lot that drops to around 44mpg.

How is this worked out?

Currently I feel that the fuel economy on my car is poor. I seem to be putting petrol in it a lot. How much should it take (money wise and litres of petrol) to fill a full tank on my car. It is a 1998 Fiat Punto 60sx 1.2

I put some of that red ex stuff in recently to hopefully clean the fuel injectors etc.

Punto 60 S Team (T reg) and I get around 42 MPG unless I am thrashing the nads off it!

Sounds like you may need a bit of a service but as Ffoxy says, conditions can affect it a lot such as do you spend hours sitting in traffic or blasting down dual carriageways with lots of roundabouts etc.

Rama 78, pretty sure I have answered this once lol. Anyway 47 litre tank capacity, so at 87.9ppl thats £41.313, to get your MPG, reset your distance counter when you fill up and next time you fill up read the amount you have done and the amount of litres you have put in. Miles/Litres gives you miles per litre, or for miles per gallon use Miles/(Litres/4.54609)

Cheers 5abr3. As usual you make great sense and make it plain and simple. Cheers bud (y)
