hi 2 things i wanted to know.

1.on my fiat punto (2000)mk2 has only a speedo and a fuel guage,so i was wondering how to check the temperature of my engine in case it gets too hot or too cold.but it doesent have a temperature guage, would there be a light that would come on if the engine does get too hot or too cold something?

there is a diagram of what it looks like,go to google, type in lockwood and its the top one.then go to dials and then its the punto mk2 and its the third dial down.its not that exact model but its very similer.

2.when i start the engine, the abs light doesent come on.is it supposed to or is it only supposed to come on when there is something wrong with the abs.

many thanks

The temperature gauge has an overheat indictator if it is a stock instrument panel (I am having trouble with viewing the page you directed to, server keeps giving errors). If this light were to come on you need to get the engine off as quickly and safely as possible!

ABS lights normally come on when the ABS has a fault or is active (depends on the manufacturer) and some have it on for a second or 2 for diagnostic purposes.

a) a light will come on to tell u if the temp goes over and it begins overheating
b) does not have abs if no light comes on

A) As said, light will come on but the fan will kick in before.

You can fit sporting/ELX clocks which have a temp gauge and rev counter if you wanted that functionality.

i have read somewhere that the clocks have to be programmed to the car, i.e. millage etc and this to me doesnt sound easy. a guide may be needed?

You go to a fiat dealer/a decent auto electrician and tell them to correct the mileage.

Make sure you get clocks with less miles on than your current ones or they won't do it in most cases.
