Guys,

a friend of mine has lost his one and only punto key. its a 2002 punto sporting.

we have a cut key (without transponder) for all the outer locks.

so i wondered.

would it be possible to buy one of these sets from ebay (ecu, ignition and key etc) ??

if so how do you go about fitting?

then it would just mean that you have two keys.

any help with the fitting of the kits and how to get them working would be great as i do want to recomend buying it for it to not work.

many thanks

Hi. depends on cost of stuff on Ebay? and hassle fitting, Fiat will get you replacement key in about 2days but it will have to be programmed, the car has to go to dealer for this, if the key is not a remote then its going to be around £140 all in. ps thats for 1 key.

bit hard to get car to fiat if you cant drive it.
if you can remove the bsi from the vehicle and send me the key i will programme 2 new keys to it on the bench. the bsi will just need refitting and will drive straight away , i will post back the same day i get it . I have now made a rig on my workbench to enable me to do this , i tested it last week and it works fine

Have u ever heard of a breakdown service or try having more than 1 key? there's no helping some people is there.

why comment if you dont have anything constructive to say!

sometimes keys get lossed - but i suppose your a special person and you dont misslay or lose things!

He's only trying to help & he's got a good valid point, having only one key is a bit silly!

You asked all this last week;

so why again?

i think you guys are totally missing the point! im just asking if it is possible to buy this off ebay and if they work?! and if so what they are like to fit.

nothing else, if you dont want to answer or help why bother putting a reply on??

THANKS!

the bsi is where the dignostic port is behind a panel ,drivers side where your right knee is , three 5mm allen screws to remove and disconnect all the plugs , its not easy to remove or replace but you would have to do it if you were, buying the stuff off ebay any way,

Tow it to Fiat, if you've got the parts the key will need coding and everything. Shouldn't cost that much to have it towed, look on eBay for a local car tower in your area. But I don't really recommend sending it to anyone off the internet, (no offence, especially with 9 posts).

point taken , i do only have 9 posts ,but what use do you think i could have for a second hand bsi that can only be used on the vehicle with the matching ecu?
we do this for vauxhall ,peugeot and many others , using royal mail registered post and have never lost one yet,
