ok, now the whole crash polava is out of the way, done all that work, but failed mot on leaky rear shock. had to have a garage do that cos i ran out of time due to exams and didnt see it whislt i was changin subframe, wishbones etc etc.
its been in the back o my mind a bit, but never realy caused much concern till the mechanic laughed at my gearbox. basically its broke. slips out of third, and occasionally grates goin in (worn syncro ring?) also oil leaking into clutch causing slipping (input shaft oil seal?) and makes grinding sound when clutch is engadged (input shaft bearing?) so ive decided to buy a second hand gearbox, give it a lil tlc and put it in, then fix mine and sell it on. sooo what do you guys reccon i should replace when i buy the second hand gearbox? any easy ways to check for condition aside from driving it? any other advice? thanks
