Technical Handbrake Cable

Hi, I pulled my handbrake too hard (I dont know my own strength lol) and I think one of the cables to either of the back wheels has snapped (ok for now though cos it works a bit)

just wundering how easy it would be to fit a new cable myself??? anyone done it?? need to get it fixed soon to autotest but got no money
