erm right ok, know nothin at all bout cars so i'll av to call a friend, but thanx :)
Neither do I really.:p But I would imaine that if the fuses and bulbs are definitely fine, then there might be aproblem in the circuit.

Maybe get someone to check if there is a current getting to the lights?

Hi,

What punto do you have? Mk1, Mk2??? depending on which, each dipped beam headlight may has its own seperate fuse aswell as a main fuse, so which one/s have you checked?

Its quite possible its a stalk problem if not a fuse problem.

haha, u know a hell of a lot more than me!! :) just another question then wot would it mean if there is no power getting to my lights would i have to get all the wiring sorted??? Getting really fed up (putting it politely) of spending money getting this car fixed!!!:bang:

the sidelights work, not tried wiggling or tapping the wiring but they've been messed with today and thats made no difference, just the fuses at the side of the steering column have been checked with one of those things that lights up when thay are live and all of those fuses are working, the full beams work and all the other lights just not the headlights :(

Think the full beam comes off a different bulb to the dipped headlight on the MK2 (which yours will be if its a 2000)

Did you change the right bulbs?

well i didn't actually know how to get to the bulbs in the first place so got a friend i know to do it, he thought they were the same bulbs as the full beams, are they not???

oh and there is only one big bulb and then the sidelight bulb underneath that one

From left to right...

Main beam + Sidelight
Indicator
Dipped beam headlight
Fog light/Chrome Blanking plate (depending on weather you have fogs or not)

Guess try changing the bulb again or take it to a garage to be looked at, weird how they would both go at the same time so might not solve it.
