Hi all,

Does anyone know of a way to reset the ECU in order to make the amber light dissapear?

I have a Mk2 16V ELX and I have just replaced a defective lamba sensor however the warning light is still permanently on. I suspect that the ECU needs resetting.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Talk to Alfa Nige about this, I think he offers these services at a very resonable price.

I had an ECU remap from him, and I'm sure he mentioned that he offered these services :D

Hi I reset the ECU on my diesel punto by disconecting the battery NEG for at least 45mins, then re-connecting the NEG lead, restarting the engine and leaving it to idle for 5 mins, and thats it. it drank a lot of fuel for about 100 miles until it sorted itself out, iI got this info of anoter fiat forum.

Amber light means you have EOBD efi system, basically this error needs to be deleted by a dealer or someone with a capable diagnostic computer. HOWEVER EOBD keeps codes for 40 drive cycles and then deletes them. A drive cycle is a warm up from cold to full working temperature covering 6.8 miles. Every time this is done and the fault does not occur, the code counter reduces by 1 (It starts at 40). When it gets to zero the light will go off as the error is wiped from the memory. Do not disconnect the battery as it will do no good at all.
