Can someone please tell me where the starter moter is on a 1.2 punto 51 plate and a guide on how to remove it. Cheers

Hi mate,


Its at the rear of the engine just above the inner CV joint, where the engine meets the gearbox bell housing. If you do it from the top, then rove the air box to give you better access.

Remove the cover on the rear of the starter motor. Undo the bolts securing the wires to it (disconnect the battery first for safety)
Undo the 3 bolts securing the starter motor to the bell housing (one at the top two on the side) and remove the starter motor.

Ok mate cheers, i will look at it today or tomorrow before it goes into the garage on friday. Its just it has trouble starting and quite alot of people are saying it sounds like a knackered starter motor.
