there is a rubber pad on the top of the front dampers on my hgt,
and it has an arrow on it.
which way should it point to?
what happends if it will be mounted the wrong way?

If you're referring to the top mounting plate that fixes the top of the suspension strut to the body, then the arrow is probably there to indicate which way round the mounting should be fitted. It would depend on whether or not you have power steering. The castor angle would be different for manual or power steering.
