Hi,

Im new on here, my Girlfriend has a (53) reg Punto 1.2.

Everytime the engine is knocked off and back on the radio resets and all presets are lost.

Im assuming the permanent live is at fault.

I am planning on testing the wires in the ISO block tonight and running my own permanent live to the battery for the memory.

Which wire in the block should be the permanent live? Colours would be helpful.

Cheers
John

Hi mate,

Firstly i would check that the previous owner hasnt just cut the permanent live and joined it to a switched source (ignition for example) The standard punto wiring set-up has a permanent live and no switched live, meaning that if you fit an after market head unit, it will be on all the time unless you carry out the wiring mod. The thickest red wire in the power iso block is the permant live iirc.

I would put a bet on the fact that the previous owner has carried out the wiring mod and youl simply have to solder the permant live back together.

Hope that help,s
Alan

I have a diagram that is printed on the back of the player but its damaged and i cant make it out.

Can someone confirm?

The connections look like this:

1)I 2)I

3)I 4)I 5)I 6)I

The symbols:

1) looks like an upside down tree
2) Says TEL.MUTE above letters GND (So this is an earth?)
3) Looks like it said SUB
4) Says AUT ANT
5) has + above it
6) Has a switch symbol followed by TEL.MUTE (ignition live)

Can anyone confirm?

number 5 ......

but as i say above, follow the wiring back from the ISO plug, as its likely to have been modded.

A1ANT:

She's had it from New mate.

I had the wiring block out today and all the wires are in tact.

Its the standard radio.

Im thinknig it's just a poss break in the wire so if i can identify the permanent live ill just splice into it and run it directly to the battery.
