Hi All,

In the brake fluid resevoir, the brake fluid seems to be just below the MIN mark, so I thought let me put a bit more in, so I unscrewed the cap at the top of the reservoir but noticed that the brake fluid reaches all the way up to the cap - is this normal? I also noticed that the 'neck' from the reservoir leading to the cap has a mesh type filter which I assume is to remove any crap from the brake fluid before it sips into the reservoir, could this be blocked? it all looks clean.

Any ideas?

Hi mate,

Yes sometimes that little mesh filter gets blocked. You can lift it out carefully with a screwdriver. BE CAREFULL - - break fluid is corrosive, and will strip your cars paint, or do you damage if you get it in your eye etc. Remove it and check its clean, then check the level. If its still too high, then you can use a pippet or similar to suck out the excess fluid unitll its down to the max line. You could also do this by bleading the breaks, but thats a bit more complicated.

Hope that helps,
Alan

Thanks Alan, wasnt aware that the little mesh could be removed, will try to remove it and clean it, thanks for the help! :)
